Life Here at Our Little Sanctuary

Just like the charity we are blogging for, we also take in chickens who have fallen off of trucks and the like. Some can only be euthanized, as their injuries were so extenseive that they could never have made it, but some of them we have been able to save, nurse back to health, and provide a loving home for where they will never end up on anyone's plate.

We also take in just about any other species of animal who needs help, including so far dogs, cats and kittens, and even baby mice. We find homes for the ones we can, release the ones that live in the wild, and just keep the rest. Pictures of all of these animals can be found on my photo page listed on the sidebar.

But I will post a picture of our last rescues - a couple of roosters we found walking around on the highway about 1/2 mile from our place.

It's never boring here in the woods on our place, and we never know who will come wandering up needing help. The one thing that is certain is that they will receive it, no matter who they are.
